Many times, modern small apartments were never meant as a self contained living space. They are often remakes of bigger apartments or converted office spaces, attics or other non living spaces. When fitting a normal sized kitchen to these small spaces, the compromises are often severe.
When fitting smaller spaces with adequate appliances one quickly fins a coloration between pricing segment and footprint. If you want a smaller oven the only option you have is pretty much camping style ovens or bench top ovens.

This is the story of Kim. The persona who loves starting his Sunday mornings in yoga class with his best friend Hanna. After class they often go on a brunch at the corner cafe. Today Kim has ordered more than what he had bargain for and ends up bringing some croissants in a doggy bag back home. The following Sunday morning, Kim brews some pour over coffee and heats his croissants in the oven before heading out to his next adventure.
The kitchen used to be an entire room, but in modern homes with open plan solution, the kitchen is simply just a corner. In order to free up visual space, by breaking up the traditional geometry of the kitchen, it's now possible to have a kitchen experience that transitions nicely into the rest of the living room.

The concept is to create a compact kitchen experience by incorporating interior design element into the main kitchen unit and create a furniture for food. What will enable this new footprint will be a new low profile oven.
Monochrome and earthy palette with rustic textures and generous material thickness.
Compact urban kitchen experience
The main kitchen is broken down in several pieces and the impression hints towards furniture rather than kitchen design.
The final concept offers a high degree of reprieved precision and simplicity.
When cutting out the hole for a sink and cook plate in normal bench tops one is left with a lot of material scrap, in this design, the carpenter only has to make a single cut each to make space for the cook top and sink.
By keeping the faucet low, monochrome and twisteble, it visually hides when not in use.
Just twist and use
Most ovens have a large footprint, jet few people know how to use the different heating zones and the clearance for a large turkey is seldom utilised. This oven has a focus on small portion for everyday use.
